Leak Suggests Galaxy S26 Ultra Could Skip Two Big Upgrades Before Debut
Updated: Feb 26
With just two days to go before its February 25 Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung is once again battling a wave of leaks and this time, the spotlight is firmly on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Fresh promotional material circulating online suggests that Samsung’s next Ultra flagship may arrive without two upgrades fans were eagerly waiting for: a bigger battery and revamped camera hardware.

Same Battery, Same Charging?
According to the leak, the Galaxy S26 Ultra could retain the same 5,000mAh battery seen on its predecessor. Charging speeds are also tipped to remain unchanged, with the device reportedly reaching 75% charge in about 30 minutes. Claimed battery life stands at up to 31 hours of video playback numbers that closely mirror last year’s model.
In a market where several Android rivals are now offering 6,000mAh or even 7,000mAh batteries, the lack of a capacity boost could disappoint power users hoping for a major endurance leap.
Camera Hardware May Stay Familiar
The camera setup traditionally a headline feature for Samsung’s Ultra lineup also appears largely unchanged. If the leak is accurate, the S26 Ultra will feature:
200MP primary sensor
50MP ultra-wide camera
10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom
50MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x zoom
12MP front-facing camera
While these specs remain powerful on paper, they closely resemble the previous generation, suggesting Samsung may be focusing more on software refinements than hardware overhauls this year.
Software and AI Take Centre Stage
Instead of big hardware jumps, Samsung could lean heavily into AI-driven features. The leaked material references a new “Private Display” mode designed to limit on-screen visibility for bystanders a privacy-focused addition aimed at users who frequently use their phones in public.
There’s also mention of an upgraded AI-powered Photo Assist tool, expected to enhance editing and photography through on-device intelligence, potentially delivering better results without changing the camera sensors themselves.
What Else to Expect?
The leaked slides hint that the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ may launch alongside the Ultra model, possibly joined by the Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro.
Of course, it’s important to note that these details are based on unconfirmed leaks. Samsung could still have surprises in store when it officially unveils the device on February 25.
For now, the big question remains: Will refinement be enough, or were fans expecting something more revolutionary from Samsung’s next Ultra flagship?
