‘Jai Hanuman’ Goes on Floors as Rishab Shetty Starts Shooting for Prasanth Varma’s Epic
Updated: Feb 26
The cameras have officially started rolling on Jai Hanuman, with Rishab Shetty stepping into the powerful role of Lord Hanuman. The much-anticipated pan-India project was launched with a traditional puja ceremony at Anjanadri Betta in Karnataka — a site revered as the birthplace of the deity.

Directed by Prasanth Varma, the film is backed by Mythri Movie Makers Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar, in collaboration with Bhushan Kumar and Shiv Chanana of T-Series. The launch ceremony saw the presence of Rishab Shetty and his wife Pragathi, director Prasanth Varma, and actor Teja Sajja, who headlined Hanuman.
A New Chapter After Hanu-Man
Jai Hanuman serves as a follow-up within the expanding Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU). While Hanuman presented a superhero inspired by the deity, the new film will directly chronicle the story of Lord Hanuman, portrayed by Shetty.
This marks Shetty’s first full-fledged mythological role following his National Award-winning performance in Kantara. The film is being mounted as a large-scale spectacle with high production values and advanced visual effects, aiming to appeal to audiences across languages and regions. Music will be composed by Gowra Hari.
Buzz and Speculation
Although rumours had circulated about Teja Sajja’s association with the project, his presence at the launch event put speculation to rest. There have also been reports suggesting that Rana Daggubati may join the cast in a key role, though the makers have not confirmed any additional casting details yet.
Presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series, Jai Hanuman is expected to reveal more updates on its shooting schedule, extended cast, and release plans in the coming weeks.
With a revered mythological figure at its centre and a proven creative team behind it, Jai Hanuman is already shaping up to be one of the most talked-about Indian films in production.
